What are ghosts?

Often we hear of people who have left our existence in a tragic fashion coming back as ghosts and haunting houses. That said, what are they? I have found poltergiest activity in my home, such as windows that open by themselves, doors that slam shut suddenly, and even strange sounds at night.

Paranormal researcher Patricia Ress investigates ghosts and strange apparitions. She want to learn what lies beyond. It is her theory that when a person leaves before they were ready to, the astral body or soul will often visit places familiar to them.

It is interesting that most ghosts are around old houses in a poor state of repair. They seldom are seen in new construction. In fact, areas that are abandoned and empty, like "ghost towns" tend to attract them. I believe these are not dead people, but rather energy parasites. That is why you feel a chill around them. The cold is them drawing energy out of you much like a mosquito.
