Today, Chrysler declared bankruptcy and GM is not far behind. The city that is most affected will see even more former workers leave. People are seeing the great manufacturing base that created the middle class disappear. In its place are low level service jobs like cleaning hotel floors (affected by flu) and flipping burgers (many restaurants will close due to flu) as well as a very few corporate marketing jobs.I expect that many US corps will relocate their headquarters in low tax low regulation venues and shed the last layer of US jobs. Lets face it, america is in trouble and DEAD-troit is merely a canary in a coal mine.
