Plasma globes are great to use with an HDR. Think of it as similar to a tesla coil, but easy to acquire. Also, it is inexpensive. Most people who use a plasma globe will tell you that it can use a Florescent bulb to light us. Well, that is if it is near.
Sadly, many do not understand how this works, or the science. It appears a field is generated that causes bulbs to light up. For example I have done tests using eco bulbs that are popular now.
